TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR AAPDA MITRA VOLUNTEERS TO BE CONDUCTED AT WILLIAMNAGAR

The District Disaster Management Authority, East Garo Hills, has informed that the 1st Phase of the 12 days training programme for Up- scaling of 100 Nos Aapda Mitra Volunteers at East Garo Hills will be held from 15th to 28th June, 2022 at DRDA Hall, Williamnagar. The training programme is being organised by East Garo Hills DDMA in collaboration with the Police Department, Civil Defence & Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Service, Medical Mobile unit, Block Master Trainer etc.

Forty Volunteers will be attending the 1st Phase of training and the remaining 60 Volunteers will be given training on the 2nd & 3rd Phase to be conducted in the coming months.

The East Garo Hills DDMA informed that the aim of the training is to provide the Community Volunteers with the skills that they would need to respond to the community’s immediate needs in the aftermath of disaster thereby enabling them to undertake basic relief & rescue tasks during emergency situations.
