Press Release No. 243/10 ILLEGAL S K OIL SEIZED Shillong, June 2, 2010: The Supply Department’s effort to check and detain anyone engaged in black marketeering paid dividends when the Department detained a vehicle bearing registration number ML08/B/0559, while it was plying on Tura-Gorabadha road on May 18, 2010 and seized 2420 litres of blue dyed S K Oil from the loaded pick up vehicle. The driver of the vehicle Mr. Dhinananda Kock could not produce any valid documents pertaining to the seized S K Oil and therefore was detained. |

Press Release No. 245/10 SECTION 144 CRPC IMPOSED IN JAINTIA HILLS DISTRICT Shillong, June 2, 2010: The Deputy Commissioner Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has promulgated an order under section 144 CrPC prohibiting assemble of more than 5 persons in one place, carrying of any lethal weapons and obstruction of any vehicular traffic / person in the whole of Jaintia Hills District with immediate effect. This was necessitated in view of the bandh called by some organizations of Jaintia Hills on 3rd June 2010. |
