3RD INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA 2017 OBSERVED TODAY AT SHILLONG

The 3rd International Day of Yoga 2017 organized jointly by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Shillong, Government of India and the Art of Living Foundation, Meghalaya was observed today at Assam Kristi Kendra, Stoneyland, Dhankheti Shillong. The programme was organized as per the protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. B.D.R.Tiwari, Secretary, Planning department in the presence of Shri Manash Choudhury, former Minister, Dr. Salam D.Singh, District Youth Coordinator, NYKS among others. The programme was started alongwith the rest of the country at 7:00 am with an audio visual massage of Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India followed by a mass yoga exercise performed by nearly 300 yoga living citizens drawn from different walks of life across the city. The yoga session was conducted by the professional instructors from the Art of Living Foundation, Meghalaya Chapter. The programme was supported by the YES Bank, Life Insurance Corporation of India, Seva Bharati, Matri Sngaha, Rynjah.
