Press Release No. 435/15 YOUNG PUGILIST FROM THE STATE EXCELS IN BOXING Shillong, June 25, 2015: The Director, Sports and Youth Affairs, Meghalaya, Shillong has informed that Smti Malini Das, a resident of NEHU campus Shillong and the daughter of Shri Debashish Das and Dr. Moon Moon Majumdar was duly recommended after conducting various tests to determine her suitability by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya for admission to the National Sports Academy (NSA) at Manipur during the year 2014. The Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, Meghalaya, Shillong also informed that after a stint of one year with the Sports Academy, Smti Malini Das began to excel at the State Championship at the Sub-Junior Girls category and in the last State Championship which was organized by the Manipur Amateur boxing Association and held at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena, Imphal, she secured a Gold medal in the Sub-Junior Girls D-38 Kg category. The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya encourages all the young boys and girls from the State to join the National Sports Academy (NSA) at Manipur. |
