ENFORCEMENT OF CABLE TELEVISION REGULATION ACT, 1995

Shillong, June 4, 2015: To enable the public to lodge complaint regarding content aired over cable television and to ensure that no unauthorized or pirated channels are carried and local news aired by the cable television operator is restricted to information about local events and is presented in a manner which is balanced impartial and not likely to offend or incite any community.

The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District and Chairman District Monitoring Committee for enforcement of Cable Television Regulation Act, 1995 has recommended that all such complaint can be lodged to the Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations, East Khasi Hills, Lower Lachumiere, Shillong – 793001, contact number – 98569-27257 or email at cabledmc@gmail.com.

SILVER MEDALS AWARDED TO 2 DCS OF THE STATE

Shillong, June 4, 2015: In connection with the 2011 Census, silver medals for meritorious service have been awarded by the President of India to two officers of the Government of Meghalaya, Shri. P Bakshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner and Shri. S Kharlyngdoh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner.

The silver medals were handed over by the Additional Chief Secretary & Chief Electoral Officer, Shri. P K Naik, IAS to the two officers at a small function held recently at Pine Wood Hotel, Shillong in the presence of senior officers.
