SECTION 144 CrPC PROMULGATED IN SOUTH GARO HILLS

The District Magistrate, South Garo Hills District has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC on July 7, 2005, prohibiting movement of persons between 8:00 P.M. and 5:00 A.M in all areas lying within a distance of 1 Km from the International Border, between Namchapara and Rangasora Border Outposts. Further, the order also prohibits all theatrical performances between sunset and sunrise in the said areas.

This order shall remain in force until further orders.

WHOLE MEAL ATTA AND LEVY SUGAR RELEASED

The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, has informed the public consumers of Greater Shillong Sadar Sub-Division that whole meal atta for the month of December, 2004 and January to March, 2005 and levy sugar for the month of July, 2005 has been released and is being distributed through their respective Fair Price Shops.

For whole meal atta, the scale of issue per head for the month of December, 2004 is 0.525 grams and for the month of January to March 2005 is 1.529 grams at the rate of Rs. 6.50 p per kg. For levy sugar, the scale of issue is 500 grams per head per month at the rate of Rs. 13.50 p per kg.

Any non-supply or overcharging of the rate by the Suppliers may be brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, with all the details.
