FREE POSTAGE FOR UTTARAKHAND RELIEF MATERIALS

Shillong, July 12, 2013: In view of the recent floods and landslides in Uttarakhand State the Superintendent of Post Office, Meghalaya Division has informed that the Relief Materials sent to Uttarakhand by post will be free of postage charges including booking, dispatch and delivery upto 20th July 2013. The relief material should not contain liquid, breakable items or any other item prohibited for booking by post offices.

The package containing relief material can be accepted upto 35 Kg of weight for a single package and can be sent free of postage charges from the Head office only available at Shillong GPO and Tura.

APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR SWAMI RAMA HUMANITARIAN AWARD

Shillong, July 12, 2013: The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has invited applications for Swami Rama Humanitarian Award for the year 2013 for person or institution who worked selflessly towards social, economic and political transformation for the amelioration of human suffering particularly of the less privilege sections of the society contributing to social justice harmony. The award is designed by the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust.
