Press Release No. 374/13 CIRCUIT COURT OF CENTRAL ADMINISTRATIVE TRIBUNAL TO BE HELD Shillong, July 19, 2013: The Central Administration Tribunal, Guwahati Bench Comprising of Mr. V. N. Gaur Member (A) and Mrs. Manjula Das Member (J) will hold a circuit court of Central Administrative Tribunal (C.A.T) at the court room of the State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, Administrative building, Lower Lachumiere Shillong on 22nd to 24th July, 2013 from 10:30 AM onwards. All cases pertaining to the state of Meghalaya will be taken up during the Circuit Bench Sitting. Advocates appearing for the parties and the parties appearing in person are requested to appear before the Circuit Sitting of the tribunal. |
Press Release No. 377/13 DISCUSSION ON NPR BIOMETRIC ENROLMENT HELD Shillong, July 19, 2013: A Presentation on National Population Register (NPR) Biometric Enrolment and an open discussion on the subject held today at the Yojana Bhavan Auditorium where the Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr. Mukul Sangma accompanied by the Meghalaya Home Minister, Mrs. Roshan Warjri, Power Minister Mr. C Marak, The Chief Secretary of Meghalaya Mr. W.M.S Pariat and other top officials of the state discuss at length of implementing the NRP in the state of Meghalaya and its application particularly in the area of citizenship. Dr. Mukul Sangma clarified the need of implementing the scheme in the state which he said that local leader will be designated by the government to identified genuine Indian citizen to be eligible for registration. He also added that mass mobilization campaign is important to ensure public participation. The meeting which was attended by the local representatives (MLA, MDC, and NGO’s like KSU FKJGP, CSWO and others) dealt at length pro and con for implementing the NRP and the benefit it has to offer to the people. The KSU leaders which was supported by the Women organization has requested to uphold the exercise for the time being and suggested that public at the grass-root level should be educate for a successful implementation of the scheme. . The meeting ended with vote of thanks offered by the Chief Secretary of Meghalaya Mr. W.M.S Pariat. |
