NOTICE

Shillong, July 20, 2013: The District Mission Coordinator, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin has informed that Smti. Sency D Sangma, BRP, SSA, Ranikor Block Resource Centre has been found absent from duty without prior information since with effect from December 2012. Therefore, the authority has directed Smti Sency D Sangma to report to the office of the District Mission Coordinator within 15 days from the issue of this notice failing which action as necessary will be taken.

ENGINEERING SERVICES ASSOCIATION MEETING INAUGURATED

Shillong, July 20, 2013: The 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Meghalaya Engineering Services Association on the theme Technocrats-Drives of Change was held at U Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong on 20th July 2013. The inaugural function was inaugurated by Meghalaya Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma in the prescence of PWD Minister, Mr. S Dhar, Urban Affairs Minister, Dr M A Lyngdoh, president of MESA, Mr. P R Marwein, general secretary of MESA, Mr. D Langstang beside others.

In his inaugural speech as chief Guest, Dr Sangma said that the influence with the influence of technology in the State impact of technology needs to be blended with new innovations and ideas which will help in bringing positive approach to good governance, while also lamenting that technology adopted by various department has failed which has brought a great loss to the State exchequer, adding that it is time to bring in synergy in the approach towards adopting new strategies in the technological aspect of developing the State. He stated that the Government should be receptive to the ideas and creativities influenced by the modern technology in order to bring must needed change particularly in the field of infrastructure development. It is only when one is receptive to new ideas and welcomes them, one will see change, he added.

Expressing his concern on the latest natural calamity that occurred in Uttarakhand, Dr Mukul said that the State should also be well prepared with any kind of disaster that may affect the people of the State particularly in terms of the quality of construction and structural standards.

PWD Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar in his speech said that Engineers and technocrats play a vital role in bringing change with effective infrastructural development. Urban Affairs Minister, Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh stressed on the need to protect the environment while executing the developmental works in the state. Protection of environment is of paramount importance so that we leave behind the legacy for safe and secure environment for the generation to come, she said.
