Press Release No. 509/05 DC WARNS DISTRICT OFFICERS The Deputy Commissioner, South Garo Hills, Mrs. R D Marak with a view to improve work culture in the District had urged the District Officers to remain in station during the week. In an official circular issued to all the Heads of Departments in the District, Mrs. Marak stated that the Officers had to be either reminded or summoned over the telephone to attend meeting, even after notice issued to them. The circular further said that very few Officers used to inform the Deputy Commissioner of their official tours and station leave. The response from the Officers in the District is very poor even though the importance of punctuality and attendance had repeatedly been stressed, the circular added. Considering the gravity if the situation, the Deputy Commissioner had threatened to lodge a complaint with the Chief Secretary if any Officer remained out of station without any prior information. |
