Press Release No. 298/10 PRICE OF SK OIL REVISED IN JAINTIA HILLS Shillong, July 5, 2010: The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), Jaintia Hills District, has informed that the price of SK Oil has been revised and fixed with immediate effect. The wholesale price from Jowai and Thadlaskein is Rs. 12.75 per litre, at Shangpung is Rs. 13.90 per litre. The retail price in Jowai town and centres within 5 Kms from the SKO Depot at Jowai and Thadlaskein is Rs. 13.80 per litre, retail price in retail centres within 5 Kms from Shangpung Wholesale Outlet is Rs. 14.60 per litre. The retail price in rural areas through retail outlets will be intimated separately to all the Headman/Secretary Advisory Committee. |
Press Release No. 299/10 PRICE OF DOMESTIC LPG REVISED IN JAINTIA HILLS Shillong, July 5, 2010: The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has informed that consequent upon the revision in the retail price of Domestic LPG of 14.2 kgs in weight by IOC Ltd., the price of the same has been revised at the rate of Rs. 383.00 per cylinder for home delivery which is also inclusive of delivery at Ummulong, Ialong and 8th Mile. Therefore, the Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has requested all consumers not to pay more than the above rate. |

Press Release No. 301/10 SPECIAL MEETING OF IAS OFFICERS HELD TO CONDOLED THE DEATH OF (L) MR. J M JALA Shillong, July 5, 2010: A special meeting of IAS Officers of the Meghalaya Wing of the Assam-Meghalaya Cadre was held today, the 5th July, 2010, to condole the sad demise of Mr. J M Jala (Retd) IAS. The meeting was presided over by the Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Mr. W M S Pariat. The meeting conveys its sincere and heartfelt condolence to his wife, three children and other members of the bereaved family and prays to God to give them strength and solace in their irreparable loss. The meeting also observed a two minutes silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul. (L) Mr. J M Jala joined the Indian Administrative Service on the 11th May, 1959 and had held wide ranging responsibilities both in the States of Assam and Meghalaya till he retired from service on the 30th April, 1988. (L) Mr. Jala was a distinguished administrator and set before himself high professional standards and followed them scrupulously. He was known for his devotion to duty and sincerity of purpose and commanded respect from all. (L) Mr. Jala was known for his love for the outdoors and was frequently out on tour, visiting the remotest areas of the State. He was an accomplished horse rider and was perhaps the only gentleman Officer from North East whose name found mention in the Equestrian Roll of Honour in the IAS Academy at Mussoorie. A humble and modest person, he is remembered for his genuine concern for his colleagues and subordinates. |
