INTER SCHOOL SUBROTO MUKHERJEE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT CONCLUDES

The Inter School Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament organized by the Office of the District Sports Officer, West Khasi Hills, Nongstoin came to a close on July 5, 2007 with the final matches, in the under 14 and under 17, being played at Nongpyndeng football ground, Nongstoin.

In the under 14 category Sip Singh Memorial Government Higher Secondary School defeated Sangriang Upper Primary School by 6-0 goals whereas in the under 17 category, United Christian Secondary School defeated Sip Singh Memorial Higher Secondary School in a tie breaker shoot out.

Altogether 24 schools from across West Khasi Hills District participated in the tournament, of which 9 schools were in the under 14 category and 15 schools were in the under 17 category.

The Superintendent of Police, West Khasi Hills District, Nongssotin, Mr. D. Marak gave away the prizes to the winners.

TAXATION CHECK POST AT KHANAPARA

The Government of Meghalaya has notified that a Check post will be erected at Khanapara, Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya for the purpose of effective implementation of the Meghalaya Value Added Tax Rules, 2005.
