Press Release No. 353/19 TWO DAY TRAINING PROGRAMME ON INCIDENT RESPONSE SYSTEM INAUGURATED The Additional Deputy Commissioner & CEO, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Khasi Hills, Smti I. Majaw today inaugurated a two day training programme on Incident Response System (IRS) for the Incident Response Teams (IRTs) of Zone –I of Shillong city which cover Laitumkhrah area held at the Training Hall, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides, Shillong. The programme was organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) under the aegis of the Developing Resilience Cities through Risk Reduction in the context of Disaster and Climate Change which is a joint initiative of the USAID Ministry of Home Affairs and the United Nations Development Programme. In her brief address, Smti I Majaw informed that Shillong City is divided into seven zones and the training is being conducted to familiarize the Incident Response Team members of Planning, Operation and Logistic sections of zone –I about their role and responsibilities for quick and effective response based on the Incident Response System during disaster, she added. Shri M. Rymbai, Fire Protection Officer is the resource persons for the two day training. |

Aided/ Recognized/ Accredited Institute/ Centre of SSA/ NIOS of East Jaintia Hills District and must be born in between 01.05.2007 to 30.04.2011. Last Date of submission of online application is 15.09.2019. Date of examination is 11.04.2020 at 11.30 A.M (Saturday) in all the respective centres of each block. |
Press Release No. 356/19 MEGHALAYA ENTREPRENEURSHIP RECOGNITION AWARD Meghalaya Chief Minister, Shri Conrad K. Sangma today handed over the Meghalaya Entrepreneurship Recognition Award (Meg-Era) to Smt. Wanmon Tang, a resident of Madankynsaw village in West Jaintia Hills District. Smt. Wanmon is a partner of Laskein EFC and the proprietor of a small home based enterprise known as Deisa Food Processing which produces candies from locally available fruits and vegetable (wild apple, gooseberry, jackfruit, ginger, etc), pickles, jam, fruit wine, juice, turmeric and chilli flakes. Congratulating the lady entrepreneur the Chief Minister said it was encouraging to see local women entrepreneurs taking the initiative to come up with startups that take locally produced goods and add value to it. ‘There are many entrepreneurs who have started off with almost no support from anywhere and I am proud and happy that we as a government, through our various programs and initiatives for promoting entrepreneurship in the State, is being able to give these entrepreneurs the recognition that they deserve and the much needed support to take their businesses to the next level’, he said. The Chief Minister also said that the government would soon come out with the procurement policy which will make it mandatory for different government offices, central government offices, institutions and companies in Meghalaya to procure a certain percentage of their procurement from local sellers. The procurement policy will encourage and boost entrepreneurship in the State, he added. The Government recently launched meghamart.com , an online platform to grant entrepreneurs wider access to markets beyond local buyers. |
