Press Release No. 117/23 ABDM SCAN AND SHARE IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAM LAUNCHED AT SHILLONG CIVIL HOSPITAL Dr. H. C Lyndem, Director Health Services (MI) today launched the ABDM Scan and Share Implementation Program at the OPD Registration Block of Civil Hospital, Shillong. The launching programme was followed by a live demonstration on the ABDM Scan and Share by the ABDM team. The objective of the ABDM Scan and Share Implementation is to promote digital health services to meet the objective set by the World Health Organisation in terms of realizing the Universal Health Coverage to each and every individual throughout the country. NHA through ABDM has introduced a QR-code based solution in ABDM empanelled facilities to enable patients to scan QR code and share their demographic base on their consent. This process will drastically eliminate the long queue during peak OPD registration time.  |
Press Release No. 118/23 SWEARING IN CEREMONY OF MR. JUSTICE B. BHATTACHARJEE AS ADDITIONAL JUDGE OF MEGHALAYA HIGH COURT Mr. Justice Biswadeep Bhattacharjee was administered the oath of office of the Additional Judge of the High Court of Meghalaya today, the 1st August,2023 by Shri Sanjib Banerjee, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya. He was born on March 26th 1968 at Shillong and completed his L.L.B. from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He joined the Bar and practised as an Advocate from September 1993. Prior to his elevation, he served as an Additional Advocate General of Meghalaya with effect from 6th September, 2018 and while serving in the said post he was also designated as Senior Advocate on 24th September,2021 by the High Court of Meghalaya. |
Press Release No. 119/23 WORKSHOP ON TRANSFORMATION FOR GRAM SEVAKS-SEVIKAS OF MEGHALAYA The Community and Rural Development Department, Government of Meghalaya in collaboration with State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Meghalaya and the All Meghalaya Gram Sevaks-Sevikas Service Association (AMGSSA) conducted a one-day workshop on Transformation for Gram Sevaks and Gram Sevikas of Meghalaya at SIRD Meghalaya, Nongsder on 1st August, 2023 with an aim to strengthen and motivate fellow Gram Sevaks-Sevikas to better serve the rural areas for rural development. The main objectives of the workshop is to identify a roadmap in strengthening the Gram Sevaks and Gram Sevikas of the State. About 100 (one hundred) Gram Sevaks and Gram Sevikas from Khasi, Jaintia and Garo Hills region participated the one-day transformation workshop. Also, Officials from C and RD Department, SIRD and Meghalaya State Capability Enhancement Project (SCEP) participated in the workshop. During the workshop, the Gram Sevaks and Sevikas affirmed their roles in rural development by signing an undertaking, pledging their commitment to transform Meghalayas rural development. The participants provide valuable insights on ways to strengthen Gram Sevaks and Gram Sevikas and highlighted the challenges faced by them through focussed group discussions. In her opening remarks, the Director of SIRD Meghalaya, Smti. Sanme R Marak, MCS, welcomed all dignitaries and expressed her appreciation to all stakeholders in initiating the workshop. Addressing the gathering, F.R. Kharkongor, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary of the C and RD Department, praised the AMGSSA for initiating the capacity building workshop. He emphasized that the Gram Sevaks and Sevikas are the most important building blocks of development in the State by comparing them with living root-bridges between the government and the people. They are the harbinger of hopes and the one who bring solutions to the many challenges and to bring development as the motto says To Inspire and to Deliver. He emphasized on the need to champion the cause of development in rural areas and expressed that each one of them are already champions in the eyes of the community. In his speech, Shri. S.C. Sadhu, IAS, Secretary C and RD Department, further mentioned the importance of redefining the role of Gram Sevaks and Gram Sevikas in changing circumstances. There is a need to transform Gram Sevaks and Gram Sevikas with present scenario in terms of implementing the flagship schemes and at the same time bring convergence with other departments who are working in the field of rural development for better service delivery and better development in the rural areas in the long term. President of the AMGSSA, Shri. Banshan Lyngdoh also addressed the audience and mentioned that the workshop would boost their morale so that they can work more harder and dedicate themselves especially when dealing with rural population. |
