Press Release No. 636/06 NONGPOH CELEBRATES RAJIV GANDHI AKSHAY URJA DIWAS 2006 The Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas 2006 was celebrated at Science Hall, Deputy Commissioner Office, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh on August 21, 2006, Mr. R R Makdoh, local MDC attended the function as the chief guest, while Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh, Mr. B Dhar presided over the function. In his brief speech, Mr. Makdoh lauded the effort of the organizers for holding the programme for the overall benefit and development of the District and the State as a whole. He also urged upon the students to make the people aware about the importance of scientific use of renewable source of energy for the benefit of the people at large. Altogether 15 schools participated in marathon, debate, quiz, essay, drawing and painting competition organized by the office of the District Rural Development Agency, Ri Bhoi District. |
