APPLICATION FOR TAXI PERMIT INVITED

Shillong, August 3, 2010: The District Transport Officer, Jaintia Hills District, Jowai invites application for availing Local Taxi Permit to all residents of Khliehriat Civil Sub-Division from the 1st August to 31st August 2010. Applicants are required to submit all necessary documents as per the rules and regulations of the Regional Transport Authority, Jowai. The issuing of permit will be completed within three months starting from the date called for application i.e the 1st August 2010. Vehicles such as Sumo, Mahindra, Max, etc who are interested can do so from the State Transport Authority, Shillong. Plying of private vehicles as public transport for commercial purposes under the Sub-Division will be strictly prohibited after the said date. Stern action will be taken against violation of the law.

LIST OF AMENDMENT TO THE DRAFT PHOTO ELECTORAL ROLL 2010 PUBLISHED

Shillong, August 2, 2010: The Electoral Registration Officer of 32-Nongstoin (ST), 33-Rambrai-Jyrngam (ST) and 34-Mawshynrut (ST) Assembly Constituencies has informed that the list of amendment to the Draft Electoral Roll 2010 has been published with reference to 01-01-2010 as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.

A copy of the said Roll is available for inspection at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District during office hours.
