DISTRICT COORDINATION COMMITTEE EAST KHASI HILLS DISTRICT HELD

Shillong, August4, 2010: The District Coordination Committee, East Khasi Hills District under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mr. J. Lyngdoh was held today at the Conference Room of the Deputy Commissioner Office, Shillong. It may be mentioned that the main objective of the District Coordination Committee meeting is to sort out the various bottlenecks that may exist between the various government departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lyngdoh called for the full cooperation of all Heads of Offices of different Government Departments under the East Khasi Hills District for the effective implementation of programmes and schemes for the all round development of the District as a whole and said, “let us untie all knots which may exist among various departments for the betterment of the District.” He also called upon for the full the full participation of all government employees in the celebrations of ensuing Independence Day 2010.

It may be mentioned that issues relating to the intra and inter departmental difficulties and problems faced by government departments were discussed. Actions to be taken for quick disposal of such hurdles which act as deterrents were evolved in the meeting.

Issues relating to traffic jam in Shillong, Disaster Management, Drilling and Boring of Tube-wells, etc., were taken up at the meeting.
