ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF CIVIL DEFENCE AND HOME GUARDS INAUGURATED

CD&HG Minister, Shri Metbah Lyngdoh today inaugurated the Annual Conference of the CD&HG here at Central Training Institute, Civil Defence and Home Guards, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong.

Addressing the inaugural function, Shri Metbah Lyngdoh said that there is a need to strengthen the manpower and the working capacity of the department so as to response effectively during disasters and natural calamities. The Minister also informed that the government is looking on the possibility of setting up of CD&HG offices in all the districts across the State.

Shri Metbah Lyngdoh expressed hope that the deliberations and discussions during the day-long Conference will see a positive outcome that will bring about strategies and measures to be adopted in the event of natural or man-made calamities. Earlier, Director General, CD&HG, Shri R. P. Agrawal briefed the Minister about the functioning and the activities of the Department.
