SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENTS

Applications for the award of Free Studentship Scholarship are invited from students belonging to ST/SC/OBC in the state of Meghalaya pursuing regular Post-Matric studies during the current year 2006-2007. Students applying for the same should be permanent residents of Meghalaya, not enjoying scholarship within the purview of the Government of India’s Post-Matric scholarship to SC/ST and other scholarship schemes of the Central and State Government.

Further, those employed in any service under the Government or any non-government establishment and are repeaters in the same class more than one time need not apply.

Applications in prescribed forms should be submitted through the Head of Institution where he/she is pursuing studies. The last date for receiving of applications in the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Shillong is 28th September, 2006 for renewal case and for fresh application not later than 31st October 2006.

Prescribed application forms can be obtained from the colleges in which the student is studying. Students studying in institutions outside the state of Meghalaya may collect the forms from the office of the Director of Higher and Technical Education, Shillong.

PRIME MINISTER'S SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

The Director, Sainik Welfare, Meghalaya has intimated that the last date for submission of application for Prime Minister's Scholarship scheme has been extended from August 31, 2006 to October 31, 2006.

REQUIREMENT OF TECHNICAL MANPOWER

The Director, Sainik Welfare, Meghalaya has intimated that HLS Asia Ltd., Noida, Uttar Pradesh requires to employ ex-servicemen of the North-Eastern Region in the post of Junior Equipment Operator-I/II for eight to ten vacancies.

WHOLE MEAL ATTA DISTRIBUTED

The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has informed that whole meal atta for the month of April, May and June ‘06 is being distributed through fair price shops at the scale of 1.300 kgs per head and at the rate of Rs.7.00 per kg.

Any non-supply or overcharging of the rate by the suppliers may be brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong with all details.
