DURBAR HALL AT RAJ BHAVAN INAUGURATED

Shillong, 4th August, 2012: Shri. R. S. Mooshahary, Governor of Meghalaya inaugurated the newly renovated Durbar Hall at Raj Bhavan today the 4th of August, 2012 amidst Dr. Mukul Sangma, Chief Minister, Meghalaya and the council of ministers. Other dignitaries include Shri. M. S. Rao, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Shri. K. Passah, Chief Engineer, PWD and many more.

During his inaugural speech, Shri. R. S. Mooshahary highlighted the history of the 108 year old Raj Bhavan, since its inception. He further stated that the heritage building needs constant care and attention to maintain its beauty. He lauded the hard work and efforts put in by the Finance department and PWD for their prompt action. He further stressed upon the necessity to maintain and preserve the age old building.

Speaking in the occasion, Dr. Mukul Sangma lauded the beauty of the Heritage building and stated that it needs maintenance from time to time. He further stated that the unique blend of modern and antiques designs incorporated in it is praise worthy. He also stated that he looks forward to many events to be hosted in the new Durbar hall.
