NOTIFICATION

Shillong, August 5, 2011: In order to ensure compliance of all coal carrying trucks plying in the State of Meghalaya with the stipulation of the order of the Supreme Court for trucks of 16.2 GVW with two axles to carry a load of about 9 MT and in the interest of public safety, convenience and public revenue, the State Government has directed that all trucks carrying coal with the specification mentioned above shall be allowed to place the planks in its tail gate/rear/back such that the maximum quantity of coal carried does not exceed 9 MT (without, however, any alteration to the height of the body of the trucks) while plying within the State of Meghalaya.

Further, the State Government prohibits entry and plying of such vehicles carrying coal within Meghalaya long the NH-44 Shillong-Jowai-Malidar, NH-44E Nongstoin-Shillong, NH-40 Guwahati-Shillong, NH-62 Dudhnoi-Baghmara-Dalu and the State Highway from Nongstoin to Tura via Shallang, that do not conform to the restriction of 9 MT as referred to above.

This notification takes effect immediately.

ON LINE SUBMISSION OF MPSC APPLICATION

Shillong, August 5, 2011: The Secretary, Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) has informed that the MPSC has given an option to all applicants to submit their application on-line, which may be done through the steps mentioned below.

Applicants should log in to the MPSC website using the registered email address, viz., www.mpsc.nic.in and click on the online application links. A list of the advertised posts will be shown and select the Check Boxes against each of the post you wish to apply for. Click on the ‘Apply’ button to apply after you select the Centre of Examination against each of the Post. Upon successful submission of the Online Application, a Challan will be generated for payment of Examination Fees. Take a print out of the Challan and deposit the required amount of money at any branch of the State Bank of India within Meghalaya. In case print out of the Challan cannot be taken immediately, you may print the same at a later stage by clicking on the ‘My Applications’ link. Enter the Transaction Id/Journal No. for the transaction. The Transaction Id/Journal No. will be provided by the Bank. Scan the ‘MPSC Copy’ portion of the Deposit Slip/Challan in .jpg format and size not exceeding 256 KB. Upload the scanned copy of the Challan by clicking on the ‘Fees’ link.
