SWACHHATA HI SEVA LAUNCHED AT JNV SCHOOL, MAWPHLANG

The nationwide campaign, Swachhata Hi Sewa, Cleanliness is Service, from 15th September 2017 to Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2017 was launched here today by Minister, PHE etc, Shri Samlin Malngiang at JNV School, Mawphlang who attended the launch as the Chief Guest. The campaign is to create an environment of cleanliness in the entire country so that the coming 2nd October, the anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission and Gandhi Jayanti, can be celebrated in a befitting manner. All NGOs, schools, colleges, social, cultural and political leaders, corporate sectors, government officials, are urged to accelerate Swachhta activities during the September 15 – October 2nd.

Earlier, in the morning a Public Rally was also held as a part of the launch which was flagged off by the Block Development Officer, Mawphlang, C & RD Block. Among others who were present during the occasion were MDC, Mawphlang & Lyngdoh Mawphlang, Shri L Blah, Secretary, PHE Department & Mission Director, W R Lyngdoh and SE (PHE), Electrical Circle, Shillong, Shri C Marngar while Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, DSBM (G) East Khasi Hills, Shri P S Dkhar delivered the Key Note and Welcome Address. The Chief Guest also administered the Swachhata Pledge and also gave away the prizes to the winners of various competitions that were held as a part of the campaign.
