LIST OF BENEFICIARIES UNDER NON-NFSA PUBLISHED

The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District has informed the public that the list of beneficiaries under NON-NFSA category has been published and dispatched to all Fair Price Shop Dealers in East Khasi Hills District. Households eligible under NON-NFSA may check their names in their respective Fair Price Shop or in the website164.100.128.97/MEGHALAYA-PDS.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES AGAINST VECTOR BORNE DISEASES

In view of the reported cases of outbreak of Vector Borne diseases like Chikungunya, Japanese Encephalitis, Dengue and Malaria in West Garo Hills District and in certain localities of Tura town in particular, the Chief Executive Officer, Tura Municipal Board has directed all the Market Committees, Development Committees and the Motor Garage Owners to carry out mass cleanliness drives on environmental sanitation within their respective working places. The motor workshop owners in particularly, have been urged to removed the abandoned and unused tyres immediately which happened to be one of the favourite breeding grounds for mosquitoes. In a separate notice, the Chief Executive Officer had issued directions to stop rearing of pigs in the residential compounds within Municipal areas stating it not only causes nuisance and poses health hazards to neighbours but also pigsty could be potentially responsible for outbreak of Japanese Encephalitis and other deadly parasitic vector borne diseases.
