Press Release No. 368/22 LAUNCHING OF ADVANCING NORTH EAST NEC WEB PORTAL AND MOBILE APP FOR STUDENTS, YOUTH AND ENTREPRENUER The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has informed that the President of India has launched the Advancing North East on the 4th May 2022 ideated by the NEC through the Ministry of Development of North East Development Region, Government of India, had develop a digital platform and web based initiative titled Advancing North East in the form of a web portal and mobile app which will act as one stop solution of education , career and livelihood providing much needed knowledge and guidance for the NER youth. The portal aims to facilitate informed career decision by the students, job seekers and entrepreneurs of the North East Region and help improving their competitiveness at national and international level. It is segregated into three categories namely, Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship. The Education section of portal offers details of emerging careers, entrance exams, institutions available at national and international for pursuing higher education and support in the form of scholarship, details of fellowship and education loan. This portal also has a special sector which aimed at girl child education. Moreover, the Employment section offers insights about employment entrance for public sector jobs, updates regarding job vacancies, up skilling trends, employable skills, vocational skills, employment opportunities and skill needs to work abroad. Whereas, the Entrepreneurship section covers all sectors of the economy feasible in North East India, list of industry specific approvals to start business, government schemes and policies, market support agencies, infrastructure available etc. It is also stated that the content of the portal is dynamic in nature and can be acclaimed as the only one of its kind where information on jobs, scholarships, entrepreneurship etc can be accessed in one portal. Press Release No. 369/22 DISTRICT CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT AMPATI The meeting of the District Consultative Committee, South West Garo Hills for the Quarter ended June, 2022 was convened by SBI at Ampati Circuit House on Friday. The meeting, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ampati, A.V.D.Shira, was attended the Lead District Officer RBI, A. Dey, Lead District Manager, A.L. Saha, Director, RSETI, Purna Rabha, DDM, NABARD, Branch Managers of various Banks and district officials of various line departments and agencies, among others. The meeting reviewed the minutes of the last DCC meeting held in March 2022 and the action taken thereof, it also reviewed CD ratio of the district and the members were informed that the CD ratio of the district was one of the best in the state. Performance of the banks under ACP 2022 to 2023 and their performance under various flagship programs like KCC, PMMY, PMJDY, PMEGP, SSS, NRLM SHG credit linkage, NOAPS, Aadhar seeding and Financial Literacy Camps were also reviewed. The Additional Deputy Commissioner expressed her disappointment over the performance and services of some of the banks and urged upon the Branch Managers to improve their performance in the interest of public service and hoped that they would be able to give better report in the next meeting. Informing that the district of South West Garo Hills was second in the state in terms of Aadhar enrolment, all banks were also asked to ensure more Aadhar seeding in the district. |
Press Release No. 370/22 CM INAUGURATES COMMERCIAL COMPLEX AT TURA The Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, inaugurated the commercial facility cum parking lot of Urban Affairs Department at A.konggre locality of Tura in the presence of Thomas A Sangma, Chief Adviser to the Chief Minister, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Swapnil Tembe, Superintendent of Police, VS Rathore, CEO of Tura Municipal Board, officials of line departments, locality leaders and prominent citizens on 2 September. Addressing the gathering, the chief minister said that Tura town being the headquarters of Garo Hills had been neglected for a long time in terms of infrastructural development. This Govt. however, has put the impetus for development of the town after it came to power, he added. According to the chief minister, under the Smart Town Project, the Govt. has spent Rs. 55 crores for beautification of Tura town and improvement of internal roads in different localities of the town and informed that the Govt. has sanctioned Rs. 15 crores for new roads and Rs. 13 crores had been spent for improvement of existing roads. The chief minister informed that the Govt. has given priority to solve the water crisis in Tura and almost 60 to 70 per cent of the problems have been solved and working with the concerted effort to bring an end to water crisis in the town. Informing that Tura town is expanding rapidly, the chief minister said that in the second phase of beautification, the circular road in the Tura Bazar will be taken up for which the Govt. will have to spend about Rs. 5 to 6 crores and said that all the localities will be provided with solar street lights and sought the support and cooperation of the people of Tura to transform the town. To check the rise in prices of essential commodities due to unscrupulous elements, the chief minister asked the trading community to cooperate with the police and the district administration and assured to provide all necessary help to protect them. Talking of his vision to make Tura one of the best towns in the North-East, the chief minister also stressed on the need to have proper solid waste management for beautification of the town. The Chief Adviser to the chief minister, Thomas A Sangma, in his brief speech informed that the development of Tura town is moving forward in the right direction due to the efforts of the Govt. and the people with the right commitment and exhorted the people to work together for the development and progress of Tura. The Deputy Commissioner, Swapnil Tembe, informed that space is a constraint and Tura market is congested. However, with the inauguration of a new commercial complex, the vending zones problems will now be solved and urged the vendors, traders and hawkers to follow the rules and notification of Tura Municipal Board. On the day, the Joint Director of Urban Affairs Department, B Lapo, delivered the key-note address and the CEO of TMB, Rikse R Marak, delivered the welcome address. The District Urban Planner, HPN Sangma, proposed the vote of thanks. |
