Press Release No. 733/06 PRICE OF ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES The Director, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Meghalaya, Shillong has informed that the following are the wholesale price (in quintals/bag/tin) and the retail price (in kg/litre) of essential commodities as on September 27, 2006. The wholesale price of Rice is Rs. 1100/1120 (Common), Rs. 1180/1220 (Fine) and Rs. 1325/1700 (Packet Parimal) while the retail price per kg is Rs. 12.00 (Common), Rs. 12.50/Rs.13.00 (Fine) and Rs. 14.00/Rs. 18.00 (Packet Parimal). The wholesale price of Atta is Rs. 1160/1170 and Maida is Rs. 1310/1320 and the retail price per kg of Atta is Rs. 13.00/14.00 and Maida is Rs. 15.00/Rs.16.00. While the wholesale price of Gramdal is Rs. 3200/Rs. 3600, the retail price per kg is Rs. 34.00/38.00 per kg. For Turdal, the wholesale price is Rs. 2850/3000 (Ahar), Rs. 2450/Rs. 3000 (Masur) and Rs. 3900/4400 (Moong), and the retail price per kg is Rs. 31.00/Rs. 34.00 (Arhar), Rs. 26.00/Rs. 32.00 (Masur) and Rs. 42.00/Rs. 50.00 (Moong).The wholesale price of Urad (Whole) is Rs.4100/4400 and the retail price is Rs.44.00/46.00. The wholesale price of Urad Dal is Rs.4900/5100 and the retail price is Rs. 54.00/56.00. The wholesale price of Sugar is Rs. 1990/Rs. 2020 per quintal, the retail price is Rs. 21.50/Rs. 22.00 per kg. The wholesale price of Mustard Oil is Rs. 660/Rs. 700 per tin, the retail price is Rs. 57.00/Rs 72.00 per kg. The wholesale price of Vanaspati oil is Rs. 710/Rs. 840 per tin, the retail price is Rs. 54.00/Rs. 62.00 per kg. The wholesale price of Tea is Rs. 100/Rs. 150 (loose) and Rs. 130/Rs. 170 (packet), the retail price is Rs. 120.00/170.00 (loose) and Rs. 160.00/Rs. 196.00 (packed) per kg. The wholesale price of Potato is Rs. 650/Rs. 950 per bag, the retail price is Rs. 08.00/Rs. 12.00 per kg. The wholesale price of Onion is Rs. 700/Rs. 1050 per bag, the retail price is Rs. 08.00/Rs. 13.00 per kg. The wholesale price of Salt is Rs. 150/Rs. 190 (loose) and Rs. 160/Rs. 380 (packet), the retail price is Rs. 04.00/Rs. 05.00 per kg (loose) and Rs. 07.00/Rs. 09.00 (packet). The wholesale price of Gur is Rs. 1200/Rs. 1800, the retail price is Rs. 18.00/Rs 26.00 per kg and while the wholesale price of Milk (Toned milk) is Rs. 27.50 per litre, the retail price is Rs. 29.00 per litre. |
Press Release No. 734/06 SPECIAL INTERACTIVE PROGRAMME HELD AT TURA A day long Special Interactive Programme (SIP) on various developmental schemes and activities of different departments was organized by the office of the Assistant Director of Information & Public Relations, Tura at Gopinathkilla Secondary School under Zikzak Block in Ampati (Civil) Sub-Division. As part of the programme various competitions were held for school children. Inaugurating the programme as the Chief Guest, the SDO (Civil), Ampati , Mr. Sanjay Goyal, IAS, said that the programme is a unique one as it was not a one sided affair where only officers do the talking, but a platform for the officers and villagers to come together and interact. Stating that information is one of the tools for empowerment, Mr.Goyal said that the villagers have the right and the officers have a duty towards them. He expressed his hope that after this programme the villagers would be able to go back home more enlightened and informed the schemes being taken up in their villages. Later during the interaction with villagers, Sub Divisional Medical Officer, Dr. J. N. Sangma talked about various Health Schemes, particularly the National Rural Health Scheme, Sub Divisional agriculture Officer, Mrs. Mira Ch. Marak highlighted on agricultural schemes while sub Divisional Veterinary Officer, Dr. K. D. Shira highlighted on schemes available for Diary farmers with a stress on Artificial Insemination. They also listened to the problems of the farmers and gave the answers to the queries of the villagers. Earlier, the ADIPR, Tura, Mrs. O .D. Sangma in her introductory address explained in detail the objectives of the programme and also highlighted the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005. |
Press Release No. 735/06 SECTION 144 CRPC PROMULGATED The District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC all over the District prohibiting any organization to conduct checking of foreigners within the district. This order shall come into force with immediate effect and until further orders. |
Press Release No. 736/06 DISTRICT LEVEL NATIONAL CHILDREN'S SCIENCE CONGRESS 2006 HELD AT NONGPOH The Office of the District Planning, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh had organized the District Level National Children’s Science Congress, 2006 at Science Hall, Nongpoh on September 28, 2006. Altogether ten projects were presented by eight schools of the District. Among the schools selected to participate in the State Level Science Congress to be held on October 20, 2006 were the King of Kings Upper Primary School, Mawkyrdep, Lumnongrim Primary School, St. Paul’s Secondary School, Nongpoh and the King of Kings Secondary School, Mawkyrdep. |
