POSHAN MELA AT POMLUM

As part of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah celebration, a one day Poshan Mela cum Felicitation for Anganwadi Workers of Mylliem C&RD Block organized by the Block Convergence Committee, Mylliem C&RD Block was held today at Pomlum village. Smti D. V. Massar, District Programme Officer ICDS (Cell), East Khasi Hills graced the occasion as the Chief Guest in the presence of Shri P. T. Passah, BDO Mylliem C&RD Block, Smti M. Kshir, BDO Mawpat C&RD Block, Smti F. Sun, CDPO, Mylliem C&RD Block, Dr. D. P. Syiem, Block Medical Officer among others. The programme was also attended by headmen and villagers of Pomlum areas, Anganwadi workers, members of SHGs, teachers and school students. Different departments comprising of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, PHE & District Swachh Bharat Mission, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Community Food & Nutrition Extension Unit, Shillong, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, District Election Office, Mylliem ICDS Project and SHGs put up stalls in the Poshan Mela. As part of the programme, Anganwadi Workers and helpers of the Mylliem C&RD Block were felicitated, recipe competition for Anganwadi workers, distribution of complimentary feeding, milk and eggs to children, demonstration of 8 steps of hand washing and short plays on anemia and diarhoea performed by the students of the Martin Luther Christian University are the highlights of the programme.

POSHAN MAAH AT MAWNGAP

As part of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah celebration, a felicitation programme for Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers was held today at Mawngap Mawkharshiing Community Hall. Shri I. Talang, Assistant Director of Social Welfare graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The programme was also attended by Shri E. Warjri, Chairman of Sohiong Block, Smti Lucy M. Kharkongor, CDPO, Mawphlang, SHGs among others. During the felicitation programme, certificates for outstanding performance were distributed to 53 Anganwadi workers and 24 Anganwadi helpers. Certificates of appreciation were also handed over to 174 Anganwadi workers and 154 Anganwadi helpers.
