Press Release No. 842/20 ORDERS Based on the contact tracing status and testing of the high risk contacts and the reports received thereof, and in supersession of orders issued on 11th , 14th, 15th, 17th and 21st September, 2020 and in exercise of the powers under the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and Amendments thereof, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in orders issued on 29th September, 2020 has lifted the containment of the Pavitra Joshi Compound, Lower Mawprem, house of Persara Lyngdoh, Jaiaw Lumbatemon, houses of Smti Oklin Kharbhih, Smti Phaitimai Kharbhih, Smti Mitimai Kharbhih, Smti Lilin Kharbhih, Smti Bibiana Kharkrang, Shri Koshon Sohlang and Shri Jopkupar Kharbhih in Lumsohriew village under Mawphlang C & RD Block, campus of Ramakrishna Mission, Sohra, house of Robin Laloo, Block – II, Upper Lachumiere and Eee Cee Bakery & Servant’s Dormitory, Hopkinson Road, Lower Lachumiere with effect from 29th September, 2020. |
Press Release No. 843/20 ORDER In partial modification to order issued on 21st September, 2020 and based on the reports received thereof, in exercise of the powers under the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and Amendments thereof, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on 29th September, 2020 has retained only the Flat No.11 in “Hill Vista” Building of Mrs. Merilda Suting located at Upland Road, Laitumkhrah, Shillong as a micro containment area. |
Press Release No. 844/20 ORDERS FOR CONTAINMENT Due to the detection of positive COVID-19 cases/high risk contacts in the house of Smti S. Mawthoh, behind Himar Complex, Howell Road, Laban and in the top floor of the house of Mr. Biju Paul, Rilbong Burnside, near Sankardev Women’s Hostel and the top floor of the building of Mr. Sandy Marbaniang, Oxford Hills COJC Church, near Oxford Community Hall which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, in orders issued on 29th September, 2020 has declared the above mentioned house and locations as micro-containment areas with effect from 29th September, 2020 so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site. The orders state that no person are allowed to move into these containment areas and inhabitants within these areas shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment areas shall strictly remain inside their homes. The Incident Commander Zone - II shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of these order. Any violation of these orders shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and I.P.C |
Press Release No. 845/20 NOTIFICATION The Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Home (Political) Department in a notification issued on 30th September, 2020 and in exercise of the power conferred by sub-Section (1) of Section 3 of the Meghalaya Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1980 (No.23 of 1980) read with the Meghalaya Essential Services Maintenance (Amendment) Act: 2003 prohibits strikes in any essential services in order to prevent any disruption and breakdown of emergency services to the public. The order was issued in public interest and it is necessary to do so in view of the extreme urgency to help contain the possibility of outbreak and spread of the COVID-19 into the State. According to the notification, the order shall come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force for a period of six months. |
