Press Release No. 967/17 CAREER EXHIBITION CUM CONFERENCE HELD The Guidance and Counselling unit of the Directorate of Educational Research & Training organized a Career Exhibition cum Conference for the Secondary School students at Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong on the 1stSeptember, 2017 wherein the Director of Educational Research & Training, Shri T. G. Momin was the Chief Guest. Around 300-400 students from Classes X, XI and XII took part in the exhibition. To start with, the coordinators of the programme selected ten secondary schools from each district and went to orient the Principals and teachers of these selected schools. The schools were selected for proper dissemination of career information and fair management of students. The programme will be conducted in a phase manner for the coverage of other schools. Charts and posters were prepared by all ten schools and the best chart was given an award followed by the second and the third prizes. St Anthony’s HS School bagged the first prize, followed by the host school, i.e. Government Girls’ HS School and the third position was shared by Kamala Nehru Secondary School and Government Boys’ HS School, Shillong. A career talk was also organized where professionals from various fields came to provide career talks to students. Talks were held in parallel sessions. The professionals from varied fields gave motivating talks. Professor Shantaram Joshi from the Biotechnology Department, NEHU gave a talk on the topic Biotechnology, Mr Mark Laitflang Stone, Founder and Managing Director of the Group Avenues gave his motivating talk on Entrepreneurship, Dr Grace D. Dhkar, Retd Joint Director of Agriculture gave her talk on Agriculture, The Deputy Director of National Institute of Fashion Technology talked about Accountancy and another faculty of NIFT talked about Fashion Technology. |
Press Release No. 968/17 NATIONAL LOK ADALAT AT TURA The District & Sessions Judge cum Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, West Garo Hills, Tura, has informed that the National Lok Adalat session on all subject matters will be held on 9th September (Saturday) in the Court premises. All concerned who have received summons/notices are requested to attend the session for resolving their pending cases. |
