GRATUITOUS RELIEF RELEASED

Shillong, 6th September, 2011: The Deputy Commissioner, Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has informed that an amount of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand ) only has been released for payment of Gratuitous Relief to the families affected by Fire incident/ Landslide (Natural Calamity) under Amlarem Block, Jaintia Hills District.

SPECIAL SUMMARY REVISION OF ELECTORAL ROLLS NOTIFIED

Shillong, September 6, 2011: The Election Department, Government of Meghalaya has notified that a Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls with reference to 1st January, 2012 as qualifying date and the Draft Photo Electoral Rolls will be published by the Electoral Registration Officers on the 1st October, 2011. Copies of the Draft Electoral Rolls will be available in the office of all the Deputy Commissioner (Elections), Sub Divisional Officers (Elections) and the Electoral Rolls will also be displayed at all the Polling Stations for public inspection.

Any inclusion or objection of a particular name in the Electoral Rolls with reference to the qualifying date may be lodged in either Form 6, 7 and 8 as may be appropriate before the concerned Electoral Registration Officers between the period of 1st October, 2011 to 1st November, 2011. Form will be available free of cost at the Offices of the Electoral Registration Officers, Election Offices and at the Polling Stations locations.

Reading of relevant part, section of photo electoral rolls in Gram Sabha, Local Bodies and RWA meetings and verification of names on 8th and 11th October, 2011, Special Campaign dates with Booth Level Agents of political parties for receiving Claims and Objections on 9th , 16th and 23rd October, 2011, Disposal of Claims and Objections by 1st December, 2011, Updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the Control Tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list from 1st to 31st December, 2011 and Final publication of Electoral Rolls on 5th January, 2012.
