CM INAUGURATES MFC UNDER ISBADP

BAJENGDOBA, 8 Sept: Attending his maiden official programme at Bajengdoba in North Garo Hills as Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Dr Mukul Sangma today inaugurated a Multi Facility Centre (MFC) built under the Government’s new initiative, the Inter State Border Area Development Program (ISBADP). Conceptualized by Dr Sangma in July 2012 under the state plan, the Scheme under an initial budget of 5 crores was started in various interstate areas on 22 December 2012 and during the schematic year 2012-2013 one each MFCs were constructed in Kharkutta, Resubelpara, Bajengdoba, Raksamgre, Tikrikilla, Rajabala and Selsella.

Expressing his happiness to be able to inaugurate the MFC for the people of the region, Dr Sangma while, addressing the gathering said that MFCs were necessitated to create infrastructures to generate a platform for the citizens to connect to various services being delivered by the line departments of the government. He said that amongst various other functions the MFC equipped with the necessary connectivity could be utilized to provide direct government to citizen services such as availing schemes, filling up forms etc without going to the concerned office or offices.

Stressing on connectivity Dr Sangma stated that the State and Central government in 2006 started the national e governance program based on which a dedicated fund for construction of mobile towers in areas where there is no connectivity was earmarked. The Chief Minister also informed that an agreement between the state and central government has been signed for laying of dedicated optical fiber to create connectivity with the remotest villages of the region and that the MFCs would play a pivotal role in facilitating online government to citizen delivery system by integrating the e governance program.

The ISBADP is one program that is exclusive to Meghalaya as it has not been taken up by any other state observed Dr Sangma who opined that other states needed to follow suit to redress the problems faced by the people living in the remote interstate border areas.

Earlier the Chief Minister handed over a computer set to be utilized at the MFC to the Bajengdoba Mothers Union who opted to look after and maintain the MFC.

CHENGGALMA VILLAGE IDENTIFIED AS A MODEL VILLAGE

Shillong, September 8, 2015: Shri Purno A Sangma, MP Lok Sabha today visited Chenggalma village under North Garo Hills District for highlighting the main objectives of the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) scheme organized by the C & RD Block Resubelpara held at Chenggalma SSA School building. The programme was also attended by the local elders, village representatives and the people of the area.

The scheme aims to project Chenggalma village to be the model village by 2016 and to fulfill the criteria the coordination of the line Departments is very much needed said Shri Purno A Sangma. He also said that Central Scheme is the convergence of various State Departments schemes to be implemented to uplift the area in all aspects where Chenggalma village be termed a model village of the area. Mikka Simdam and Wakso A’Simgre villages also falls under the mapping.
