TEACHERS DAY OBSERVED AT NONGPOH

Shillong September 8, 2010: Teachers Day function on the theme “You are the Builders” was organized by the Inspector of Schools, Ri Bhoi District on September 7, 2010 at Parish Hall, Nongpoh. Dr. D. D. Lapang, Chief Adviser to the Government of Meghalaya and local MLA attended the function as the Chief Guest.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Lapang said that teachers are important members of the society which demand complete commitment in their profession. Teachers also play a vital role in bringing change in the society by imparting quality education.

Later Dr. Lapang convey his congratulation to the three District Awardees Mr. E. Pyngrope form Myngken Secondary School, Bhoirymbong, Mr. R. R. Choudhury, MeSEB, Umiam and Mr.L.S.Bay, Khlieh Umstem, Presbyterian L. P. School.

NOTIFICATION

Shillong, September 9, 2010: The Governor of Meghalaya has notified the Wards reserved for Tribals and Women in connection with Election of Ward Commissioners to the Municipality of Tura. This was informed by the Deputy Commissioner (Election), West Garo Hills District.

The Wards reserved for Tribals are Ward No. I, Ward No. IV, Ward No. VI, Ward No. VII, Ward No. VIII, Ward No. IX, Ward No. X, Ward No. XI, Ward No. XII and Ward No. XIII while Ward No. VII, Ward No IX, Ward No. X and Ward No. XI has been reserved for Women.
