SYNRANG MAWRIN TOURIST SPOT AT MAWTEN INAUGURATED

Mr Paul Lyngdoh, Meghalaya Minister i/c of Tourism, Social Welfare, today inaugurated Synrang Mawrin one of the beauty spots located in Mawkyrwat in the presence of Mr. R.L. Tongkhar, M.L.A, Mawkyrwat. It is worth mentioning that the total cost of this project amounts to Rs. 1,27,45,269/- crore under MGNREGS.

Spreaking on the occasion Mr. Lyngdoh expressed his gratitude to God for being able to associate himself with the inauguration of this natural beauty that speaks volumes of the greatness of its creator. He stated that our land has many such places of interest that not only attract tourist but offers a myriad of experiences and unique features He also informed that the government is at the planning stage for development of Tourism sector in this area with a hope for quick and speedy implementation through the assistance and support of Asian Development Bank (ADB). He also informed that about 1000 numbers of viable homestays has been sanctioned up-to March 2024 in order to develop tourism in this area. He therefore felt the need and importance of creating Tourism Police for the safety of tourists and at the same time called for help and support from the community in order to boost tourism in this area.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar, highly appreciated the officer and staff of the Block Development office Mawkyrwat for their collective efforts in making this beautiful place to what it is now. He lauded the people of this area for their foresightedness in the implementation of this project under MGNREGS which will benefit them in the long run. He was of view that beautification of this place will be done in such way so as not to destroy the beautiful landscape and picturesque scene that God has adorn with. He expressed his anguish with a hope that more development projects be brought in order to promote and develop this area.
